One Day Internationals are a form of international cricket where a game is played over the course of a single day and a limited number of overs are bowled by each team - typically 50. Unlike Test cricket a lot of one-day cricket is played in the form of tournaments, with more than two teams competing.
The LG Cup took place in 1999. South Africa, Zimbabwe, India and Kenya are four of the world’s best cricketing nations and some top cricket matches took place between these sides at the event. South Africa eventually triumphed as champions and lifted the LG Cup. An estimated worldwide audience of 10 million people watched the tournament, bringing Kenya to the focal point of world cricket. The TV audience rating was higher than any other sporting event in Kenyan history.
The LG Cup Archive features all the round-robin matches between South Africa, Zimbabwe, India and Kenya at the tournament; and the subsequent final between India and South Africa.
