Founded in 1916, The PGA of America is the largest working sports organization in the world, comprised of more than 28,000 employees dedicated to promoting the game of golf. The PGA conducts many well known and distinguished golfing events, including The PGA Championship, The Senior PGA Championship, The PGA Grand Slam of Golf and co-hosts The Ryder Cup.

INTRODUCTION


The PGA is involved in a large number of tournaments attracting professionals and amateurs alike. The PGA’s flagship tournament is The PGA Championship which is one of the 4 annual Major Championships. Held at various locations, the tournament draws the world’s best players, all in hopes of winning the coveted Wanamaker Trophy.

Other prestigious events held by The PGA included The Senior PGA Championship, the oldest event in senior golf, and The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, a tournament that brings together the year’s 4 Major Championship winners for a season ending head-to-head competition, where in 2004 Phil Mickleson shot an incredible 59 in the final round to capture victory.

Past participants of all 4 events include, Ray Floyd, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Price, Vijay Singh, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

The PGA of America Archive is a comprehensive collection providing a wealth of unique action, memorable moments, and precious restored footage from 1945, 1962, 1966, 1969, 1972 & 1974 to present.

Tournament Footage 1989 - Present


Long form coverage from the final day of play for The PGA Championship with cleared English commentary and international sound.

Selected years will have extensive long form (continuous/non-continuous) coverage of play from other days of the Championship.

Duration: approx. 6 hours per day


Restored Footage

Unique range of restored footage including Sam Snead, Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen and Joe Kirkwood.


Senior PGA Championship

Various footage dating back to 1961 and continuing until the present.


PGA Grand Slam of Golf


The PGA Grand Slam of Golf is an exclusive tournament contested by the years four Major winners, at the beautiful Poipu Bay golf course in Hawaii.
