INTRODUCTION

30 Athletes from all over the world compete in 5 qualification groups with six athletes in each group. They undergo six different tests of strength. The top two athletes in each group advance to the final. In the final the athletes endure seven different tests of Strength in order to establish who is the World’s Strongest Man:

Dead Lift - Holding a car off the ground for as long as possible. Power Stairs – Carrying a 200kg weight up more then 20 steps as fast as possible

Boulder Holder – Carrying a basket of boulders as far round a circle as possible

Truck Pull – Pulling 2 equally sized cars

Tyre Flip – Flipping BIG tyres down a course as fast as possible

Farmers Walk – Carrying a weight in each hand and racing against each other on a course

Power Lifting – Simple weight lifting repetitions

Atlas Stones – 5 stones, gradually increasing in weight being lifted on to a platform.

Legendary figures in the sport have cemented their legacies at the World's Strongest Man. Bill Kazmaier, Jon Pall Sigmarsson, Magnus Ver Magnusson, and Mariusz Pudzianowski captured multiple titles and each can claim to be the sport's greatest champion.
