Over 4 million people attended The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour with millions more watching on television networks around the world. The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Archive brings together footage from Tour events and is a unique showcase of world-class women tennis.

INTRODUCTION


The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour is an elite series of tournaments for professional women's tennis organised by The WTA . In 2007 more than 1,400 professionals will compete on The Tour at tournaments hosted in 35 countries including United States of America, Australia, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, China, Spain and many more. At the 62 scheduled tournaments in 2007 players from 75 nations will compete highlighting the globalisation of the women’s game today.

The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour includes Tier I, Tier II, Tier III and Tier IV Tournaments and culminates in The WTA Tour Championships in November.

Throughout the 2007 season the world's best women tennis stars, such as Venus Williams, Martina Hingis, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Amelie Mauresmo, Nadia Petrova, Serena Williams, Elana Dementieva, and Maria Sharapova will compete for over $62,000,000 in prize money.
