The SFA Archive brings together international friendly matches played by Scotland and Scottish F.A Cup footage.

INTRODUCTION

The SFA was founded on 21 March 1873 following a meeting held in Dewar's Hotel, Glasgow. Only a handful of the eight original founding clubs still exists today; however a wealth of other top-class clubs now exist. Scottish football continues to flourish and the Scottish National Team enjoys regular success on the international stage.

The SFA sits on the International Football Association Board which is responsible for the laws of the game. The SFA is also a full member of Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The Scottish National Team therefore regularly competes against sides from around the globe in both friendly matches, and European Championship and World Cup games. The SFA is responsible for the organisation of The F.A Scottish Cup which sees clubs of all levels compete for the honour of lifting the prestigious trophy of this knockout competition. Enthralling encounters always take place in The Scottish F.A Cup and historically there have been some major upsets, with top sides being knocked out by clubs in lower divisions.

The SFA Archive features some of Scotland’s most exciting matches from the international arena, dating from 2003 to present, and action from The Scottish F.A Cup from 1996 to present day.
