INTRODUCTION
On 25th March 1876 The Welsh National Football Team played their first competitive match against Scotland in Glasgow, making them the third oldest international football team in the world. Today, The FAW continues to compete on the international stage in European Championship and World Cup competition. Like all international sides, the Welsh also play regular friendly fixtures against some of the best teams in the world.
The FAW have over the years regularly beaten some of the best teams in the world. Recent and past stars of the side include Ian Rush, Ryan Giggs, Robbie Savage, Craig Bellamy and Robert Earnshaw.
