INTRODUCTION

For over 20 years the Australian Masters Golf Tournament has taken place at the challenging Huntingdale Golf Club in Oakleigh, South Victoria. With some of the finest fairways and greens in the Southern Hemisphere, Huntingdale creates conditions that make the course one of the most difficult and treacherous in Australia, testing even the most accurate of professionals.

The biggest names in golf have graced the tournament including Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia with Bernhard Langer, Mark O'Meara and Colin Montgomerie all having managed to find a place on the champions’ roll of honour.

The event has also given several Australian players the chance to launch themselves onto the international stage after breakthrough victories. Greg Norman completely dominated the tournament amassing an astonishing six gold jackets in a 10 year period between 1981- 1990 and has been followed by the likes of Ian Baker-Finch, Craig Parry, Robert Allenby, Richard Green and Peter Lonard into the winners circle.
