As IMG clients Roger Federer and Venus Williams earn their fifth and fourth titles respectively, IMG Media Archive are inundated with requests for Wimbledon matches and Wimbledon Archive footage. Roger Federer once again retained his crown as king of Wimbledon, beating Spaniard Rafael Nadal to secure his fifth consecutive title, matching the legendary reign of Bjorn Borg, who achieved the same feat at the height of his own career. The Gentleman’s Singles Final was the third longest in Wimbledon's history and the most thrilling climax to The Championships since Goran Ivanisevic's dramatic victory over Pat Rafter back in 2001.
Venus Williams clinched her fourth Wimbledon title in eight years with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Marion Bartoli of France, which proved to be a much harder victory than the score indicated. Despite the Final being contested by two of the lowest seeded players in history, the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the tennis on show on Centre Court.
The Wimbledon Archive Collection contains extensive footage from The Championships dating back to 1900, with interviews and behind the scenes footage also available. The Championships have provided audiences with breathtaking tennis from the game’s greatest players including Fred Perry, Rod Laver, Billie Jean King, Bjorn Borg, Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe through to Pete Sampras, Steffi Graf, Goran Ivanisevic, Roger Federer and Venus Williams.
