| New York Marathon: Paula Radcliffe marked her first marathon since 2005, and the birth of her daughter, Isla with a win in New York last month. Radcliffe led from start to finish, despite being pushed hard by Ethiopian Gete Wami, who was level with her going into the final mile. As the runners passed the 26 mile mark however, Radcliffe dug deep to pull away from the Ethiopian, eventually crossing the line in 2:23:09 to claim her second NY Marathon title. Kenyan Martin Lel also won his 2nd title, leading home the men’s field, including cycling legend Lance Armstrong, in 2:09:04.
