IMG Media Archive acquires Asian Games rights

IMG Media secures representation agreement with the Olympic Council of Asia.

IMG Media has secured an eight-year agreement to become the sole and exclusive licensor to The Olympic Council of Asia for all media rights excluding the ‘live window’ from all past and future events including The Asian Games, Asian Winter Games, Asian Indoor Games and Asian Beach Games.

IMG Media have also been named within the agreement as the exclusive archive programme production partner to The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

The agreement adds to IMG Media’s impressive archive portfolio of footage collections ranging from sports and entertainment to cultural and wildlife.

The Olympic Council of Asia’s main event is The Asian Games which had its most recent meeting in the emerging city of Doha in December 2006. The Games which have their own unique flair, involve traditional Olympic disciplines as well as intriguing events specific to the continent of Asia.

With 45 competing nations represented by 12,500 participants The Asian Games are growing and producing world class athletes whose performances have been recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and captured within this intriguing archive collection.
