About the film:
“Jack Nicklaus dreamed of winning The Open Championship at St Andrews. However, in 1970 the main focus of the final round was on the colourful American Doug Sanders. On the 18th green Sanders had a seemingly simple three foot putt to win his first major, but standing over the putt he hesitated, bent down to remove what he thought was a blade of grass, and then subsequently missed the shot! He went into an 18 hole playoff with Nicklaus and eventually lost to his compatriot. This fantastically restored film also features golfing legends including Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Tony Jacklin.”
